Cold Mix
Mixed Types For Pavement
Pavement construction is a mixture of asphalt and aggregate. Asphalt serves as an adhesive and filler, while the aggregate serves as a reinforcement / pavement structure. In the mixture, the two mix in various variations depending on the gradation of the aggregate and the type of mixture. There are several ways of mixing that are commonly known, namely:
By mixed function
Based on the ability to distribute the load
Mixed structural values
Mixes with no structural value
Based on the construction method
The pre-mixed method consisting of hot mix (hotmix),
warm mix (warm mix) and cold mix / room temperature (cold mix)
Some of the more commonly known blends are
- Macadam Penetration Layer (LAPEN)
- Thin Layer Asphalt Sand (LATASIR)
- Asphalt Sheet (BURAS)
- One Layer Bitumen (BURTU)
- 2-layer Asphalt Laburan (BURDA)
- Cold Mixed Asbuton Layer (LASBUTAG)
- Thin Layer Pure Asbuton (LATASBUM)
- Concrete Asphalt (LASTON)
- Asphalt Concrete Foundation Top (LASTON TOP)
- Laston Below
- Thin Layer Asphalt Concrete (LATASTON) or hot roll sheet / HRS
- Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA)
- Stone Mastic Asphalt / SMA
